CHRISTOPHER HARRISSON
Art, Animation, Writing & Projection
Christopher is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Bristol, UK. He works mainly in animation and projection design for theatre, but his practice also spans writing, comics and performance. Driven by playfulness, all his work is unified by a desire to tell accessible narratives, in whatever form is most appropriate. His projects frequently touch on themes of myth, memory and the absurd. His work has been shown around the world and he has been a finalist in multiple international projection mapping competitions, including festivals in Shanghai, Tokyo, Sofia and Dublin.
Credits for video design in theatre include: Outlier (Theatre Royal Plymouth and Bristol Old Vic), Romeo and Juliet (Graeae and Shakespeare North Playhouse), Last Rites (Theatre Ad Infinitum), Wendy: A Peter Pan Story (The Egg, Theatre Royal Bath), Minny Stynker (Soap Soup Theatre), Indestructible (Proteus Theatre), Vinland (Jack Dean & Company), The North! The North! (Christopher Harrisson). Other animation projects include art and animation for the computer games Great North Road (Jack Dean & Company) and Truth Sleuth: Thrills, Chills and Chemical Spills (Modest Genius), and numerous shorts including the Standpoint series for Theatre Centre and a teaser trailer for Sony’s rerelease of Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
